Welcome to Menlo Park Healthcare!

At Menlo Park Healthcare we believe your search for skilled nursing services should focus on a facility that not only offers good care but also promotes life enrichment. The staff at Menlo Park takes great pride that this is such a place.

To our residents and family members, we provide the comfort of knowing that our elders are well cared for in a secure and pleasant environment, where they can live happily, and where they can achieve their highest level of independence.

Residents are encouraged to make decisions concerning their needs and their desires. At Resident Council Meetings, they offer recommendations on the services that affect them. Through planned activities and the interactions of daily life, there are many opportunities to make new friends. Elders become members of a community that supports them as they support each other.

Family members and elders are encouraged to participate in care planning. On an ongoing basis, they are kept well informed about what's going on; in turn, we like to hear their ideas and comments. Whenever they have a question or a concern, they can easily reach us. Family and friends are welcome to visit anytime.

Menlo Park is staffed by licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants who use state-of-the-art health care equipment and treatment programs to provide therapeutic care. Our professional staff has extensive experience in rehabilitation and geriatric care.

Our registered dietitian takes pride in planning fresh, well-balanced meals according to individual nutritional needs and personal taste. Residents are encouraged to meet with the dietitian either individually or as part of the food committee to offer menu suggestions. Family members are welcome to dine with the elders anytime.

Services

Menlo Park Healthcare provides three therapies: Physical, Occupational and Speech on an in-patient and outpatient basis. These services are designed for all ages and appropriate injuries. A young person from an auto injury or a senior recovering from a hip replacement, knee replacement or stroke.

Physical Therapy focuses on strengthening the lower extremities and restoring the patient's maximum levels of function. Since an injury may require new means, or levels of mobility, we provide care giver training to facilitate the greatest means of support for returning to the home environment.

Occupational Therapy is to strengthen the upper body, and to assist residents in functioning at their maximum potential for as long as possible. Strength and range of motion have far flung ramifications. Even a small improvement can have an overwhelming positive impact, again making it possible for the person to do their daily routines.

Speech Therapists evaluate a person's thought processes, speech and swallowing ability after a trauma. By working quickly and intensely, much of the loss can be regained.

In some cases of discharge to the home. Home Visits for the resident are carried out by our therapists to evaluate any need for equipment i.e. safety bars or rails, stairways, width of doors, household hazards and bathing facilities. Once the evaluation is complete and the equipment is installed, the therapists may take the resident home and help them practice moving about. In this way, the return home is smooth and as accident free as possible.
