Welcome to Columbia View Care Center!
Overlooking the Columbia River in Cathlamet Washington is Columbia View Care Center, a skilled nursing facility offering excellent care while promoting life enrichment. The residents and staff take pride in its homelike environment and staff involvement in the community of Wahkiakum County.
To our residents and family members, we provide the comfort of knowing that the resident is well cared for in a secure and pleasant environment, where they can live happily, and where they can achieve their highest level of independence.
Residents and family members are encouraged to participate in care planning. On an on-going basis, they are kept well-informed about what's going on; in turn, we like to hear their ideas and comments. Family and friends are welcome to visit anytime.
Through planned activities and the interactions of daily life, there are many opportunities to make new friends and develop new interests. Residents become members of a community which supports them as they support each other.
Assisting our staff are consultants in a variety of fields. Available on a daily basis to monthly basis are dietitian services, podiatry, mental health professionals, occupational, speech and speech language professionals, ministers from several denominations, a beautician, and more.
Our food service manager takes pride in planning fresh, well-balanced meals according to individual nutritional needs and personal tastes. Residents are encouraged to meet with the dietitian either individually or as part of the food committee to offer menu suggestions. Family members are welcome to eat with residents anytime.
Services:
Residents in need of physical, occupational, or speech therapy have trained therapists working to develop a program tailored to their special needs. We design our therapy programs to accommodate a resident's individual abilities and tolerance levels.
Our Physical therapists use exercise, functional activities and specialized techniques to teach movement skills, balance, and self exercise programs. Additionally, the physical therapists work with residents to decrease pain, improve endurance, and learn safety techniques for injury prevention.
Our occupational therapists teach independence on living skills such as dressing, eating, personal hygiene, and homemaking skills. Additionally, the occupational therapists teach energy conservation, compensatory skills, use of adaptive equipment, and home transition skills.
Our speech pathologists work with residents to improve speech, language, memory, communication and swallowing skills. They also assist with training on alternative communication skills when speech is no longer possible.
Restorative care focuses on retraining in the activities of daily living. Our staff takes a team approach in re-teaching these skills to maximize independence.
