Facilities

We believe your search for skilled nursing services should focus on a facility that not only offers good care but also promotes life enrichment. The staff of Orchards Rehabilitation and Care Center takes pride that this is such a place.

To our residents and family members, we provide the comfort of knowing that the resident is well cared for in a secure and pleasant environment, where they can live happily, and where they can achieve their highest level of independence.

Residents are encouraged to make decisions concerning their needs and their desires. At Resident Council meetings, they offer recommendations on the services that affect them.

Through planned activities and the interactions of daily life, there are many opportunities to make new friends. Residents become members of a community which supports them as they support each other.

Whenever they have a question or a concern, they can easily reach us. Family and friends are welcome to visit anytime.

Our facility is staffed by licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants who use state-of-the-art health care equipment and treatment programs to provide therapeutic care.

Orchards Rehabilitation and Care Center prides itself on the continuous education we provide to our employees. We strive to ensure that they are well-trained on all of the changes that we constantly face in the Health Care Industry. We also strive to ensure that each employee provides the comfort and quality of life that our residents expect. Our staff feels that the resident is our employer and it shows in the security the residents feel while staying with us.>> more >>

Mindy Shepard- Administrator
I am a licensed social worker by education, but I have been a long term care administrator since 2001.  I took my first position as a social worker in long term care at this very facility.  I had no idea what long term care was all about, but once I was in the position, I was “hooked.”  I spent time traveling before returning home to the Lewis-Clark valley to raise my children and to be close to my family.  I was blessed to be able to return to my “home” facility as the Administrator in November 2007.  I cannot imagine doing any other kind of work.  I am truly blessed to have the opportunity to work with the residents and staff at The Orchards Rehabilitation and Care Center.  I love what I do!

Sheryl Symonds, RN - Director of Nursing
I have been a nurse since 1990. I have worked in a multitude of different settings, including; residential schools, ambulatory care, OB, ER, pre and post op, ICU and Long Term Care. I have lived on both coasts, but returned to the northwest because my family is here and I LOVE IT! I have been the Director of Nursing since March 2008. My Philosophy is that we will give great nursing care not because it is what the regulators say we should do, but because that is what we do.
