At Menlo Park Healthcare we believe your search for skilled nursing services should focus on a facility that not only offers good care but also promotes life enrichment. The staff at Menlo Park takes great pride that this is such a place.

To our residents and family members, we provide the comfort of knowing that our elders are well cared for in a secure and pleasant environment, where they can live happily, and where they can achieve their highest level of independence.

Residents are encouraged to make decisions concerning their needs and their desires. At Resident Council Meetings, they offer recommendations on the services that affect them. Through planned activities and the interactions of daily life, there are many opportunities to make new friends. Elders become members of a community that supports them as they support each other.

Family members and elders are encouraged to participate in care planning. On an ongoing basis, they are kept well informed about what’s going on; in turn, we like to hear their ideas and comments. Whenever they have a question or a concern, they can easily reach us. Family and friends are welcome to visit anytime.

Menlo Park is staffed by licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants who use state-of-the-art health care equipment and treatment programs to provide therapeutic care. Our professional staff has extensive experience in rehabilitation and geriatric care.

Our registered dietitian takes pride in planning fresh, well-balanced meals according to individual nutritional needs and personal taste. Residents are encouraged to meet with the dietitian either individually or as part of the food committee to offer menu suggestions. Family members are welcome to dine with the elders anytime.

Bill Swanson, NHA - Administrator
I have been associated with Long Term Care for 35 plus years. I graduated from Portland State University with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. After graduation, I went to work in Public Accounting. The first client I worked on was a large Catholic Long Term Care Facility in Portland with a capacity of 335 residents. I worked in Public Accounting for ten years, then went to work for the facility as the Controller, then was promoted to CFO, and eventually became the VP of Operations. In 1996, I received my Nursing Home Administrators License in Oregon. After receiving my license, I went to work as administrator in a nursing home the Dalles. My mission is to provide the highest quality of care for our residents; we are here to serve our residents, and treat them with dignity and respect.

Wendy Power, RNs - Director of Nursing Services
I have been the Director of Nursing Services at Menlo Park Healthcare for 6 years. My experience in long term care has extended over the past 15 years. I began my career as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Medication Technician while going to nursing school. I obtained my RN licensure in 1994. I worked as a Charge Nurse, Resident Care Manager, and Assistant Director of Nursing Services before taking my current position. I am wholeheartedly committed to this profession, the residents and my dedicated staff. I am currently furthering my nursing education through Linfield College School of Nursing. I enjoy the everyday challenges of the position, and also reaching long term goals for the betterment of our residents and committed team.
