| Residents in need of physical, occupational, or speech therapy have trained therapists working to develop a program tailored to their special needs. We design our therapy programs to accommodate every resident’s individual abilities and tolerance levels.
Our Physical therapists use exercise, functional activities and specialized techniques to teach movement skills, balance, and self exercise programs. Additionally, the physical therapists work with residents to decrease pain, improve endurance, and learn safety techniques for injury prevention. Our occupational therapists teach independence on living skills such as dressing, eating, personal hygiene, and homemaking skills. Additionally, the occupational therapists teach energy conservation, compensatory skills, use of adaptive equipment, and home transition skills. Our speech pathologists work with residents to improve speech, language, memory, communication and swallowing skills. They also assist with training on alternative communication skills when speech is no longer possible. Restorative care focuses on retraining in the activities of daily living. Our staff takes a team approach in reteaching these skills to maximize independence.
