Our fully staffed therapy department includes: Physical Therapy Physical Therapists: These highly educated professionals focus on strengthening the lower extremities, to restore function and mobility. Occupational Therapists: These individuals provide therapies targeted to increase flexibility and strengthen upper extremities. Speech Therapists: These therapists focus on restoring impaired swallowing and speech after a stroke. Restorative Nurses: These Certified Nurse Aides have received extensive training in providing support and direction, used to continue the plan of restorative care. Discharge planning is coordinated with all disciplines, and starts on the day of admission. Prior to discharge to home, a therapist may go to the home to ensure that needed supports, such as ramps, grab bars and safe footing surfaces are in place, when needed. Follow up telephone calls are made within the first 30 days of discharge, to ensure that the resident’s physical functioning is being maintained. |
